Aida Maffeo passed away peacefully on Feb. 16, 2022 at the age of 93. Formally of Lindenhurst, she was born on Dec. 26, 1928 in a small village in Abruzzi, Italy. She was the youngest child of Anthony and Elizabeth DiNardo, and she moved to the United States at the age of seven where she lived in Mt. Vernon, NY. After high school she worked for Krug's Bakery where she met her husband of 63 years Joseph S. Maffeo. They moved to Lindenhurst in 1954 and lived there for many years until they moved to Ronkonkoma to live with family. Joseph passed away 2012!

She is survived by her children: Deacon Joseph R. Maffeo and Beverly Maffeo (nee McKelvay), Linda A. Cardinal, and Rev. Michael T. Maffeo. Her Grandchildren: Melissa and Chris Bell, Stephen Maffeo and Nicole, Michael Cardinal, Anthony Maffeo and Kacey, Paul and Kelly Cardinal. Great Grandchildren: Jessica and Justin Bell, Elizabeth, Nina and Emily Maffeo. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
