Obituary for Anastasios Amanatidis
On Sunday, January 10, 2021, Anastasios T. Amanatidis, passed away at the age of 90.
Anastasios was born in Kozani, Greece, in the village of Platania to Theophilos and Savoula Amanatidis. He was one of nine children, having six brothers and two sisters (Ioannis, Maria, Fotios, Lazaros, Vasilios, Gervasios, Nikolaos, and Arhontia). Maria and Vasilios died in early childhood. Anastasios was born after Gervasios.
In 1951, Anastasios emigrated to the United States together with his younger brother, Nick. In 1963 while visiting his family in Greece, he married Stratoniki (Niki) Kotsopoulou in Kastoria, Greece, with whom he returned to the United States and they had two children: a daughter, Savoula, and a son, James. Throughout his life, he worked in the diner-restaurant business.
Anastasios loved his family very much. He leaves behind his daughter, Savoula Amanatidis; his son and daughter-in-law, James and Michele Amanatidis, and their three children, Zachary, Julianne, and Matthew.
