Obituary for Fred Rosario
On Wednesday, June 7, 2023, Fred Rosario, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 96
Fred was born on December 14, 1926 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico to Elias and Benedicta (Barril) Rosario. He spent his early years in Manhattan. On April 12, 1958, he married Anne Doyle. They moved to West Babylon, NY and raised two daughters, Carolyn and Diane.
After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Army. He was a proud World War II veteran. He served with the 24th Division in Leyte and Mindanao and in Japan. He later went on to serve with the Air Force in the Panama Canal Zone. He was discharged from the service with the grade of Sergeant.
He worked at the Sperry Rand Corp. for 15 years before moving on to the Transit Authority for 25 years.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife Anne on October 23, 2010. He is survived by his two children, Carolyn Novak and husband Paul Novak, and Diane Ford and husband Michael Ford, and three granddaughters Samantha Novak, Emily Ford and Lauren Ford.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Lindenhurst Funeral Home, 424 S Wellwood Avenue, Lindenhurst, NY 11757 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm.
