James D. Childers, 72, died unexpectedly on April 14, 2022. He was born on May 14, 1949 in the Bronx, N. Y. , the son of Walter Childers and Harriet Sposili Childers.

Jim attended Lehman College earning a BA in history. Upon graduation he was drafted into the army during the Vietnam War. After an honorable discharge Jim continued his education at Saint John’s University earning an MBA.

Jim married his sweetheart, Patricia Coffey on December 6, 1980. He was the devoted stepfather to Krista Clemente and a beloved grandfather to Noelle, Brianna and Janelle.

Jim was a long term employee of the Defense Contract Management Agency in support of the US Defense Department. He is survived by his loving wife, stepdaughter and grandchildren.

James also has 4 surviving siblings, Priscilla Thierbach, Janice Naldi, Walter Childers and Thomas Childers and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and 2 sisters, Karen Caruso and Catherine Lewis.
Jim was a dynamo of a man who grabbed life and made a success out of everything he touched.

He loved his family, and Pat was the perfect soulmate for him. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
