Obituary for Joseph P. Pehowich Jr.
On Sunday November 28, 2021, Joseph Pehowich Jr, loving son and brother passed away at the age of 37.
Joey was born on April 10, 1984 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, NY. He graduated from Lindenhurst Senior High school in 2002. Joey became a veterinary assistant and worked at many animal hospitals throughout the years. He has worked at Deer Park Animal Hospital for seven years.
Joey had a true passion for animals, and excelled in his profession. He was always there to help an animal in need. He was known as the animal whisperer to his friends and family because of his ability to bond with even the most difficult animals.
He is best known for his kind heart and gentle nature. Joey would do anything for his family and friends. He was the one who would be there any time, day or night, when someone called for help. He never thought twice about it; it was second nature to him.
Joey was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Evelyn Owens, and his paternal grandfather, Peter Pehowich Sr.
He is survived by his parents, Ann (Owens) and Joseph Pehowich Sr, his sisters Heather, Kristin, Danielle, his nephew Mason, grandmother Kathryn, great aunts Deanna, Barbara, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and his girlfriend Lori Schnetzler.
A wake will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Lindenhurst Funeral Home at 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
