Obituary of Lance Scott Lindsay
October 24, 1956-August 16, 2022

Lance Lindsay passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 16, 2022. Lance enjoyed his life and family. He loved spending time at the beach, playing in the waves, and riding his bikes. He died doing what he loved.
Lance was born is 1956 to Samuel B. Lindsay and Violet Coughenour Lindsay, and lived in Pittsburgh, Pa, Summit, NJ, and Commack, NY. Lance graduated from Commack High School North and was on the fencing team. He attended college in Oswego but preferred working outside over the classroom and returned to Long Island, NY. He was an independent contractor, installing cable TV and security systems and was eventually recruited to manufacture security systems. Lance enjoyed a long career at NAPCO Security Technologies, where he designed residential and commercial Fire and Security Systems for 33 years. He was Director of Hardware Engineering and proud to be part of a great team.

Lance’s finest accomplishment was meeting his wife, Tamara, who had emigrated from Ukraine. She is a hard worker and a great cook. Together, they built the American dream, enjoying travel, home projects, and sushi. They owned their home in Copiague and entertained the extended families with Ukrainian delicacies.
Lance is survived by his wife, Tamara, and children--daughter Yaroslava Klymovets, husband Valentyn, grandson Oleska and granddaughter Diana; daughter Kateryna Zaitseva, husband Oleksandr, granddaughter Anastasiia; and son Stanislav Vasylevsky, wife Victoria, granddaughter Evelina, grandson Luka; and his siblings, S. Craig Lindsay, wife Susan, daughter Brianna; Bruce B. Lindsay, wife Janeen; and Lori (Lindsay) Quievryn, and her children Timothy, Jennifer, and Daniel. Lance was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel B. Lindsay, and Violet (Coughenour) Lindsay.

COVID has little to be thanked for. For our family, it meant weekly Zoom calls to keep in touch and provide support. We became much closer and thankful for the time together. Lance, we will miss you on those calls.
A Celebration of Life is planned for later.
