Obituary for Patricia Koehler

Patricia Koehler, born July 30, 1947 in Brooklyn, daughter of the late Edward and Alice Grant, passed away on March 25, 2022 at Long Island Community Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was predeceased by her husband of 23 years, Larry Koehler in 1999.

Patricia loved anything to do with the Bay and the water. She and her late husband loved spending time on their boat with friends and family. Patricia was well known around Lindenhurst for her seafood restaurant, The Boat House and The Boat House II. This family owned business was a passion of Patricia’s. Years following the sale of the restaurants, she spent many years working at local diners, staying connected with friends and customers from Lindenhurst.

She loved hosting Christmas dinner every year bringing together her large family of about 30 people. She also enjoyed family gathering for the 4th of July. In her earlier years, she also enjoyed traveling down south to North Carolina where she would vacation with her family. Patricia loved lighthouses and black labradors. She was a fur baby mom to 8 black labradors over many years of her life. She LOVED her dogs.

Patricia is also predeceased by her brothers, Edward And James Grant. She is survived by her children, William Gillam & partner Maura Dougherty, Brian Gillam and wife Lori, Kathleen Gillam, Jackie McKeon & husband Steve, Mike Koehler, & wife Tara, her grandchildren, Sarah & partner Anthony, Crystal & husband Louis, Julie & partner Avery, Jessica & partner Bill, Allison, Abigail, Bianca & partner Pawel, Emma, Brendan, Thomas, Frank, Kieran, Meaghan, Grace, Michael, Kaitlyn, Matthew, great grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth, Lorianna, Nicholas, Adrianna, Calvin, & Rylee, her brother, John Grant & wife Carol, sister Maureen Reinold, nieces and nephews, Michael, Alex, JP, Eddie, Danielle, Regina, Sean, Julia, Jordan and their families.
