Obituary for Richard "Dick" Finnerty
Richard (Dick) Finnerty passed away at the age of 76 at the Stonybrook Veterans Home. Born on February 15, 1944 and died January 19, 2021. He suffered from Lewy Body Parkinson’s and Dementia. Dick was the son of Thomas and Gertrude Finnerty.
Dick served in the US Army during the Vietnam
era Stationed in Paris.
He worked at Air France and was a lead cargo agent. When he moved upstate he was the Fire Chief for the Volunteer Fire Department in his hometown of Russell New York.
Dick was the proud father of five sons. Richard, David, James, Robert (Bob) and William (BJ). Two stepsons Bryan and Michael.
Which resulted in Grandsons Richie, Benjamin, Frank, and Douglas. And Granddaughter Heather Ann. Step Grandsons Cody, Jacob, Jeremy, Curtis, Twins Dallas and Dakota. Step Granddaughter Taylor, Carolina, Brianna and Great granddaughter Airanna.
Dick leaves his wife SallyBeth and his ex wife Carol. His brother Harry. His brother Eddie and Thomas passed before him. He leaves numerous family members and friends too many to mention who will miss him dearly. He will be with us always in our hearts.
