Obituary for Richard C. Kaminski

Richard C. Kaminski of Farmingdale, NY passed away December 30, 2021, after a brave and prolonged battle with cancer, he was 62 years of age. Known to everyone as “Ricky”, he was born and raised in Brooklyn and later graduated from Lindenhurst High School in 1977. Ricky was a left-handed genius, gifted with mechanical skills from an early age when he built and sold bicycles from spare parts to other kids. Ricky used his talents first as an automotive mechanic and ultimately built a successful lifetime career as a machinist-tool maker producing high-precision parts and machinery as part of Long Island’s aerospace industry. He also built, set-up and repaired complex machinery for manufacturing. He enjoyed camping, concerts, listening to music and riding his 1974 Harley-Davidson Sportster motorcycle. Above all, Ricky loved and was strongly devoted to his family, friends and pets. He will always be remembered for his loyalty, generosity, infectious humor and party personality. Ricky is survived by his longtime partner Barbara Taus and her family; brother Jamie and wife Monica, niece Ariana, nephew Devin; sister-in-law Susan, nephew Michael and wife Kristen and newest nephew Robbie as well as his loving cousins Kathy, Billy, Susan, Barbara, George, Tommy and Paul Corrar and all their children and grandchildren that he loved very much. Ricky was pre-deceased by his parents Edna and Walter after ensuring they were cared for in their time of need as well as the untimely passing of brother Robert.
