Obituary for Sabatino Thomas "Tom" Donatone

Sabatino Thomas Donatone, a World War II Veteran, recently passed at the age of 97. As a member of the Great Generation he lived by ideals that are notably absent in many people these days. He was guided by a strong, ethical compass insisting on the truth and doing the right thing to the best of his ability. He is survived by his wife Anna, his son Steven and a loving family.

He lost his mother at age 8 and lived in an orphanage for several years prior to joining the Navy at age 16. He was trained in electronics and subsequently assigned at a torpedo specialist on the aircraft carrier White Plains. He survived the great battle of Leyte Gulf an upon discharge from the Navy began his life-long career in electronics working in a number of defense plants.

His marriage to Anna marked the beginning of the best years of his life as they were deeply in in love and had a great deal of fun together over the years. His long life can be attributed to his many interests and her loving care.
