Obituary for Stephen Flaherty Sr.
Stephen W. Flaherty, Sr of Lindenhurst, New York joined too many angels Wednesday, February 1, 2023 with family by his side. He was 71 years old.
A teddy bear of a man who told the corniest jokes, Stephen was an avid baseball lover and softball player who could be heard whistling a tune or singing a song wherever he went. He loved his family and friends dearly, and will be missed by many. The world will be a much quieter and sadder place without him here.
Stephen was preceded in death by his mother Jeanette Olinger, father Edward Flaherty, Sr., brother Edward Flaherty, Jr., and stepfather Sy Olinger
Stephen was beloved father to Stephen, Jr (Donna) Flaherty; adored "PopPop" to Kailei, Mandy, and Shane Flaherty; and cherished brother to Elyn (Michael) Coyle. He also leaves behind former wife, AnnaMarie Flaherty.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Stephen's name to American Kidney Fund, American Heart Association, or Hospice Care Network.
