He subsequently was employed by Railway Express and worked as a laborer for the City of New York for several years. He and Mary L. Mr. Doran was the brother of the late Joseph and brother-in-law of the late Kathleen. He was the uncle of Colleen, Erin, Mary, Sheila, and Patricia, the wife of his late nephew Joseph. He also had several great nieces and nephews. He was the brother-in-law of James Churchill.

Mr. Doran worked hard to support his family and took pride in his Lindenhurst home. It was a home that all were welcome into and would be greeted with a hearty handshake and hello. He loved vacationing, gardening, sitting on his deck, and home projects. No matter the outcome, he was a firm, long-time supporter of the New York Giants.
