Obituary for George John Maune

George John Maune was born in Brooklyn, New York, on September 21, 1926, to Oswald and Elizabeth Maune. He graduated from East New York Vocational High School. After serving in the Army, George pursued his interest in aviation; working at American Airlines, Republic Aviation, and Grummon.

George’s adventurous spirit lead him to fly airplanes, ride motorcycles, go deep sea fishing, and even parachute at the age of seventy-four. At Grummon, he worked on numerous important projects, including the lunar space module. He loved life and he loved his family.

George married his beautiful wife, Marie Yodice, on August 10, 1953, and together they raised their family in Lindenhurst, New York. After living most of his life there, in his later years he lived in Lancaster, Ohio, and Little Rock, Arkansas, enjoying time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

George is survived by his two sons and their spouses; Arthur and Sue Maune, and Ken and Connie Maune. His three sisters; Marion, Betty Ann, and Joan Alice.
