Obituary for George Little

George "Jet" Little, Jr., a lifelong fan and source of information on professional baseball, passed away on December 19, 2016 at his home in Maynard, Massachusetts. George was known for his ability to engage all who came his way with his immediate smile and caring and inquisitive nature. Born in Brooklyn, the son of Marie and George Little, George lived on Long Island for most of his married life, retired to the Poconos and then spent his final years in Maynard to be near family. Married to Elaine Little, the love of his life, for 61 years, George leaves his son James Little and his two daughters, Suzanne and Michelle. Pre-deceased by his brother Walter and sister Marie Johnson, George also leaves his son-in-law, Thomas Recane and granddaughter, Emma Recane, as well as his niece, Elizabeth Portmore, and nephew, Michael Little, and their families. George’s childhood ‘crew’, the Mentone Crowd, have been his lifelong friends.

George was an electrical contractor, owner of Litebrite Electrical Contractors, and he worked in Home Depot in his retirement years. A fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers and then the New York Mets, George started his baseball viewing career at Ebbets Field, and then followed the Mets from the Polo grounds through to their new home at Citi Field.
