Sweet Mrs. Short

My heart is saddened by the news of Mrs. Shorts passing. I remember a petite woman with a contagious laugh and a kind, giving, loving heart. Our family was next door neighbors and then "back yard" neighbors for years. When I think of Mrs. Short I remember her inside beauty, by that I mean she always had a smile on her sweet face that seemed to come from inside! I remember how she always welcomed my sisters and I in her home when her nieces and nephews would be visiting in the summertime! I remember how she walked with almost a "skip" in her step. I remember the weekly barbecues that a few of the families would have in summertime. Those were fun times. I remember way back when the ladies wore wigs for a change she wore one to one of our birthday parties and she was dancing with us girls and joked about flipping her wig! She loved her Joe and her Frankie oh so much. She was a great friend to my mom! I remember the Christmas card every year. I remember they took the four hour trip to attend my wedding. I remember visiting and walking into their house and feeling home because they have the picture board with long ago pictures that made you feel like they never forgot those times. I could go on...rest in peace sweet Mrs. Short knowing you have lived a long, loving, sweet life loving your Joe and Frankie and everyone who crossed your path. You will be missed. Although we didn't see you often after we moved away, you made an impression on my heart! I will remember you always xo
